Description

Rarely do two separate stories blend like flour and water to create such a film.

These stories surround two real life people. Julie Powell (Amy Adams) is an unhappy desk job worker who started an internet blog about the challenge to cook 524 recipes in 365 days. This cookbook is written by none other than Julia Child (Meryl Streep), the American celebrity chef who moved to Paris with her husband who later cooked French cuisine with techniques that the rest of the world could access. The chef’s cooking recipes from her time at the famous Le Cordon Bleu inspires Julie to crawl out of the misery of her job to find her new inspiration.

It’s a dual story about relationships, finding your real inspiration, and a real passion for food. Meryl Streep does a wonderful rendition of the warmly TV chef, and Amy Adams can really play a stressed out woman trying to find herself. You’ll notice Stanley Tucci from Devil Wears Prada is again working with Streep, this time as Julia Child's husband. After watching this film, you may have a slight craving to bake a cake, or sauté something.

    Comments about Julie & Julia:

Have to say really enjoyed this DVD. Has loads of laughs - which are needed these days. Meryl Streep is just fantastic in it, as she is in all her films. For a great night in its definitely worth watching.
